Frequently Asked Questions
How Long Does Therapy Take?
Honestly, it depends. Every client is different and is treated as an individual. During the first few sessions, we will discuss your goals for treatment. I encourage all of my clients to be engaged and participate in their own treatment, which can often lead to faster results. While some clients may only need a few sessions, others may need several months.
Can You Prescribe Medications?
No, my license do not allow me to prescribe medications. You will need to contact a psychiatrist or your primary care physician. As I often see clients on a more routine basis, I am happy to collaborate with your medical providers or others who may be engaged in your treatment.
Do You Only Work with Women?
No, not at all. I often work with male clients who are experiencing increased anxiety and stress. Parenthood can also bring about a new set of challenges for dads who are learning how to adjust to their new role. It’s not uncommon for men to also experience symptoms of postpartum.
What Are Your Office Hours?
My office hours are as follows:
*Late Afternoon & Evening Appointments tend to fill up quickly
What Should I expect at my first APPOINTMENT?
Prior to your first appointment, I will send you a link to my secure client portal. This will allow you to complete your paperwork at your convenience from the comfort of your own home.
When you arrive at the office for your first session, we will start by reviewing the paperwork you signed and I will answer any questions you may have. After that, we will begin to have a conversation. I will be asking you questions which will help me understand what brought you to therapy and to help guide me in your treatment.
How Much Do Sessions Cost?
The initial evaluation appointment is $200 (90 minutes), while on-going therapy sessions are $180 (50 minutes).
Substance Use Evaluations are offered at the rate of $250 (2 hours, including written report).
Do you Accept Insurance?
I currently participate with Aetna, BlueCross Blue Shield and Lyra insurance. If I am out-of-network with your insurance carrier, I can provide a receipt for services that you can use to submit for reimbursement purposes.
What Is Your Cancellation Policy?
I do require 24 hours advance notice for any appointment changes or cancellations. If you do no show for your scheduled appointment or cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled session, late session fees will apply.
What if I Can't Make it to the Office?
For clients who may not be able to make it into my office or may need additional privacy, I do offer online video sessions. I utilize secure programs, including doxy.me or Spruce Health and will send you a link prior to our scheduled session.
